The Plowshare Ministry connects small groups of students to church congregations that are a bit more out of the way from Taylor's campus but that we believe are doing good work and will both be a blessing to students and will be blessed by committed student attendance. Students who are part of Plowshare Ministry believe in the vitality of small churches and want to be active participants in the life of a church. Even though the college years are limited, they believe that being discipled in a local church in these years can be preparatory to lifelong membership and service in the church as Christ's means by which we pursue the Kingdom of God
Christian Ministry majors at Taylor University are required to do 4 semesters of Christian Service Learning. This is an opportunity for students to connect with local churches/ministries, and serve ...
The RMI’s Christian service learning projects combine learning and service in a powerful way. In these courses, students have an opportunity to work with faculty and ministry leaders to put the learning objectives of their courses to work in the context of the local church & ministries
Students are involved in things like: after-school programs, mentoring, tutoring, outreaches, youth groups, Sunday School, and much more. These projects are a great way to bring learning to life for the good of students, pastors, and local congregations!
Practicums
The RMI offers a limited amount of grants for students to be involved in a Summer Practicum in rural churches. For information on our practicum program, contact Dr. Tommy Carrington: Tommy_Carrington@taylor.edu
